Graduation is just around the corner and it's nerve wracking! Lindsay High School has felt like my home for four short years and now I have to enter a new home. The change is terrifying because now I'll be responsible for everything. It's going to be challenging, but it'll also be worth it.Once I walk across the field and receive my diploma, it's all over and I'll be finished with high school.
So far I've been applying for scholarships to be able to pay for college, since my family is not financially stable enough to help me.I will also be working in the fields with my mother to save up what little money I can earn and hopefully buy a laptop since everything is being replaced by technology.Just thinking about growing up makes me nervous.
What I am most looking forward to is the feel of independence.I grew up with a strict mother. She's always had her eye on me and so have my sisters.Another plus of moving away is that I will no longer have to babysit my sibling's children. No more screaming barn animals running around the house when I'm trying to do my homework, just peace and quite. Finally, I am looking forward to meeting new people. I haven't always been extremely introverted, but when I was, I hated the feeling of being so shy. I want to change that and become more extroverted and approachable.
Looking back at these years makes me a little nostalgic. I've had a lot of great memories here and LHS and I don't want to just get up and leave.I'm extremely grateful for all of my friends who have stood by my side when I needed them, my supportive teachers, and my Cross Country and Track family. We've been on a rollercoaster of emotions together within these four years and I'm not ready to say goodbye to all of that just yet.
